Welcome to Troop 903!!! |
We are part of the largest uniformed, volunteer organization in the world-- the Boy Scouts. Scouting is a team effort: Scouts, parents, and adult leaders. The goal of Troop 903 is to provide an environment in which the Scout can become physically strong, mentally alert, and morally straight. With parental assistance, the troop can make this goal a reality at the same time the Scout is having fun. This Information has been prepared to acquaint you with Scouting and to provide a ready reference to the “normal” operating procedures of Troop 903. This booklet is not formal policy but guidance. |

We sincerely hope your association with Scouting and Troop 903 will be enjoyable and richly rewarding. Troop 903 is YOUR TROOP. Together we can make it an outstanding troop, one of which we can all be truly proud and with which we are glad to be associated. |

Respectfully yours in Scouting,Troop 903 Committee |

Mission of Troop 903 |
The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America, incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by Congress in 1916, is to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness. The mission of Troop 903 is to provide the proper guidance so a Scout may attain this goal through performance of his duty to God, to his country, to others, and to himself. The troop provides an environment in which the boy can also learn to accept responsibilities, share in tasks through teamwork, respect law and order, have the opportunity for wholesome associations of friends, and develop the companionship of people of character. Through the activities of Troop 903, the program of the Boy Scouts of America provides for boy's leadership, training, and other learning opportunities while having fun. We have a large troop with broad interests and developmental needs so each year we develop a three tiered program. We focus on: 1. Basic Scout Skills (mainly young Scouts), 2. Rank Advancement (all Scouts), and 3. High Adventure (older Scouts). |
Our troop is adult managed but Boy led. Our objectives are accomplished in the spirit of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. They exert a lasting influence in the life of a Scout outside of, but hand-in-hand with, his family. |
